Our Corton Grand Cru Clos des Marechaudes features well-balanced notes of vanilla and toast on the nose with nuances of raspberry. Starts off very round rich and powerful a harmonious combination of richness and the finesse of the terroir. The tannins are dense mature and round. Very nice volume and length on the palate.
Shows strong terroir characteristics in its complex spicy mineral aromas. Takes time to open up but then reveals intense citrus fruits ripe exotic fruits (pineapple litchi) and more spices (coriander cloves). The palate is delicate and integrates the sweetness which almost vanishes on the finish.
The Cote Ronde parcel is vinified separately and is aged 16 months in 100% new French oak barrels. It is an intensely concentrated lush-textured wine with vivid dark fruit spice chocolate and oak flavors.
