It is a balanced elegant deeply colored and vividly flavored Chateauneuf-du-Pape due to the old vines’ naturally low yields. It brims with fresh and pure dark berry fruit and notes of black pepper and chocolate.
Appearance: Very intense ruby red. Nose: Generous with notes of ripe black berries (blueberry black cherry) and spices. Palate: Liquorice spices very noble with beautiful texture and salivating mouthfeel on the finish.

Le Haut-Lieu Sec is one of my favourite wines from anywhere every year. The nose is pure fresh and chalky uniting florals and green citrus. On the palate it is full-bodied ripe yet mineral-rich. The palate is powerful and elegant; fine tense and nervy.

With the Premiere Cote’s shallowest stoniest soils its wines often synthesize Le Mont’s intense minerality with Le Haut-Lieu’s generous texture. Clos du Bourg is often the richest and most powerful wine in the lineup.
The nose is somewhat more tropical than the other dry bottlings with some truffle candied citrus peel and quince paste. Quite full in the mouth it nonetheless possesses bracing acidity and good minerality.
