A barrel sample made up of 88% Cabernet, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbc, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and features flamboyant crushed black currants, wild blueberries, boysenberries and raspberry preserves notes plus touches of cedar chest, camphor, pencile lead and underbrush with a waft of potpourri. Medium to full bodied, the palate has loads of taut, muscular fruit and a rugged framed of grainy tannins, finishing cedar-laced. – 95 Parker
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate has a vivid purple-blue color as well as a medium to full-bodied, gorgeous classic Napa Valley character. Blue fruits, spring flowers, violets, and tobacco define the bouquet, and this is a beauty in the making. – 95 Jeb Dunnuck
Explosive aromas of currant, plums, baker’s chocolate and rose petal are followed with secondary notes of gravel, cedar box and vanilla bean. Flavors of warm black cherry compote, hoisin, black olive, cocoa powder and unsweetened chocolate are framed by the natural minerality that is a hallmark of Blueline. The finish is long and polished with a wonderful lift from the 3% Cabernet Franc, the first time it’s been added to Blueline Cab. This is plush and rich but make no mistake it is a massive wine that has a good 20-30 years of life. – Winemaker Bob Foley.
