2020 Summer Water Rose
2020 Summer Water Rose
Tasting notes of orange peel, pink grapefruit, strawberry, watermelon
Summer Water is more than the rosé of the season – it’s a state of mind, and every drop is full of pink-tinted possibility.
Summer Water Rosé brings the sunshine no matter the season. This perennial favorite is delightfully crisp, lighthearted, and destined for a good time. The grapes for this wine were picked early in order to achieve a natural acidity that’s ideal for warm-weather drinking. To ensure as little extraction from the skins as possible, we used the direct press method, retaining the delicate fruit aromas and pale color rosé is known for. The result is light, aromatic, and dry – with notes of melon, peach, rose, and citrus. Light fare like shellfish, ceviche, and salads will pair swimmingly or just drink it chilled anytime you need a shot of happiness.
Ryan Zotovich, Winemaker
“Good rosé is hard to make. It is one of the most technically challenging wines to create. It requires hitting precise picking windows in the vineyard and precise techniques in the winery to end up with the proper color as well as fruit and acid balance. I feel that it’s important to go the extra mile and really put the time and energy into managing all theses aspects; that is how you get a good rosé. We don’t do juice bleeds or blend white with red wine. That’s not true rosé. Instead we manage each smaller component on an individual basis and as a result we are able to create a 30,000-case blend from many small, well-managed lots. This attention to detail shows through in this rosé that I hope you enjoy.”
