2019 Stoller Chardonnay
2019 Stoller Chardonnay; Willamette Valley,Oregon
Winemaker Notes; Our Dundee Hills Chardonnay is a mix of all the Chardonnay clones on our property. Whole cluster pressed to mitigate phenolics, delicate aromatics leap out of the glass. Showing notes of ripe pear, candied lemon, and jasmine on the nose, the palate is vibrant yet succulent. Flavors of mandarin orange, baked apple, and ginger along with hints of wet stone fill the front and mid-palate. The initial vibrancy winds down to a long soft finish.
Chardonnay is the world’s most famous white-wine grape and also one of the most widely planted. Although the most highly regarded expressions of the variety are those from Burgundy and California, many high-quality examples are made in Italy, Australia, New Zealand and parts of South America.
Dundee Hills is an AVA in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, some 25 miles (40km) south-west of Portland. Willamette Valley’s first Pinot Noir vines were planted here in the mid-1960s by growers determined to show that Oregon’s terroir was better suited to the variety than California
