Château Dassault

In 1955, Marcel Dassault purchased Château Couperie, in Saint-Émilion, in what he termed “well-thought-out love at first sight”. Rechristened Château Dassault, the 28-hectare vineyard benefits from the work of a dedicated and passionate team and state-of-the-art facilities. Thus, the quality of the wine has been steadily improved over the years. In 1969, Château Dassault became a “Grand Cru Classé” and was confirmed in its classification in 2006.

Today, Laurent Dassault, Marcel Dassault’s grandson, is in charge of the vineyard’s investments, working closely with Laurence Brun, who runs the property. The Château has implemented a continuous improvement policy, with the collaboration of its passionate team and the expert advice of Michel Roland, its oenologist. The company expanded in 2002 with the acquisition of Château La Fleur Grand Cru Saint-Émilion (6.5 hectares), Château Dassault’s neighbor. Its goal is to raise the quality of its production to become one of the great wines in its appellation.

The Dassault team applies the most demanding principles to produce the very best wine: harvesting the grapes at the height of their maturity, respecting the qualities of the terroir, carefully fermenting the harvest, ageing the wine in oak barrels and precisely blending it in a balanced way (with two-thirds Merlot, complemented with the careful addition of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon).
