2017 Carpineto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Brilliant ruby red with a tendency to garnet. The nose is ethereal, extraordinarily elegant with hints of violet and wood. The palate is dry, harmonic, fruity and velvety, with an elegant texture and long finish.

A mix of fruity and savory, this red reveals as much eucalyptus, bay leaf, thyme and tobacco as black cherry, blackberry and licorice. Concentrated and solidly built, lingering with an aftertaste of dark fruit and Mediterranean herbs, plus iron and tobacco. 95 pts WS

This wine will fly!

The drive and passion to make great wine at Carpineto comes from two great men Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo. Named for the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, the term nobile has historical roots in the original practice of reserving this wine exclusively for the aristocratic families of the area. Carpineto’s Vino Nobile is produced from fruit harvested exclusively from their Montepulciano Estate. The ethereal bouquet shows elegant notes of violet and toasted oak nuances. Bold fruit flavors envelope the palate with a velvety, elegant texture and long finish, it is dry and full in style. This Riserva benefits from extensive aging in a combination of Slavonian and French oak barrels for 18-24 months, followed by 12 months in bottle. Again Tuscany does not better at this price. I strongly recommend.
