2020 Vietti Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi
2020 Vietti Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi Timorasso is a native white grapevine that has been grown in Piemonte in the area around Tortona. The Tortona hills are centered on the town known in the days of ancient Rome as Derthona which lends its name to the wine. Located in southeastern Piemonte it is 100 km from Castiglione Falletto and shares a similar blue tufo soil. Unfortunately the plantings declined after phylloxera until the 1980s when the commitment group of young local vignerons rediscovered its ancient past and they set out to launch its comeback._x000D_

“We fell in love with this wine as soon as we first tasted it in the 1990s. It immediately evoked moving memories associated with the reminiscences of my father Alfredo Currado who in the late 1960s began his wine-producing journey with Arneis at the time a still widely unknown native Piedmontese white varietal.” – Elena Currado Vietti _x000D_
