For the third year in a row, this was a 97-point Platinum Medal winner in the Decanter World Wide Wine Awards!! They said “Dark, sleek cassis fruit, ripe and layered, with notes of tobacco leaf, coffee bean, mocha and dried violet. Pretty, floral palate with a slightly smoky character. Ripe tannins, refreshing acidity and lovely eucalyptus and menthol on the lingering finish. A great example of the power and freshness of Cabernet Sauvignon. Plenty of time ahead.” 97pts Decanter
This wine opens with ripe red fruit, black pepper, and anise leading to notes of dried flowers, currants, and blackberries. Those flavors carry through on the full-bodied palate, which is supported by polished tannins and a lengthy finish. Though approachable now, this wine will continue to develop and evolve over the next decade. Winemaker

A national historic landmark and the only wooden gravity-flow winery in the Napa Valley. Trefethen Estate winery is one of the few in Napa Valley that’s never bought any grapes. All of their wines are produced with grapes sourced from their estate vineyards, mostly the 61 vineyard blocks that make up their Main Ranch. The establishment of the Oak Knoll District AVA in 2004 is in large part due to Trefethen’s presence there. Just south of Yountville and Stag’s Leap, Oak Knoll is one of the coolest regions in the Valley. The Cabernet ripens slowly over an extended season developing complex flavors. This Cab is sourced all from the main ranch and is a great example of power, balance and finesse. The 2019 vintage for Napa is excellent.
