2019 THE CALLING SINGLE VINEYARD SERIES PINOT NOIR FOX DEN VINEYARD RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY 750ML
On the nose, Bing cherry and red plum delight with a hint of crushed red rose petals and baking spices. On the palate, mix of sweet and tart with flavors of dried cranberry, wild strawberry, clove and nutmeg. This wine is weighty and textured.
Initial aromatics of salted caramel and dark chocolate lead to deep and diverse notes of paprika, fig, graphite, oyster shell, cedar, clove and nutmeg laced with beautiful floral wafts of violet and dried rose petal. The palate is seamless with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, ancho and candied citrus. The finish is long with chalky tannins.

Due to the soils in the vineyard, the Estate Pinot Noirs’ elegant, transparent style is more Burgundian than Californian, emphasizing wild strawberry, earth, blueberry and dill varietal characters.
A blend of fruits, herbs and spice offer the aromatic prelude, revealing scents of Italian plum, cherry cordial, fresh tobacco leaf, cedar and sage. A silky-smooth palate yields an abundance of wild Oregon berries, red plum, hints of leather and warm baking spice. Balanced interplay between tannin and acid provides a polished, satisfying finish.
